| The previously mentioned
Grammatical Path to Power is a viable option. However, there are
others, more powerful, less subtle and more exciting. Grammar is
boring. It is a rule of life.
So we at the IOJ have decided it is best to leave you with the
amibiguous language example
and let you mull that, while we at the IOJ enlighten you about another
issue that has been much in the public eye lately and that our researchers
have been tackling:
How can we use space travel to gain power over our romantic
partner?
How indeed? This is not a simple question, and it will not have
a simple answer. The answer will be complex, potentially so complex
that it appears tongue-in-cheek, to use a colloquialism. Do not
be fooled by seemingly complex language. Complex language can be
used to confuse and confound, as can simple language, particularly
apparently simple language that when used properly can be circuitous.
But that's neither here nor there.
What is here is the pursuit of power. The creation of a state of
confusion in your partner is an opening that can be exploited for
your personal benefit, specifically the augmentation of your Power.
Let's say your partner does not understand space travel or trajectory
of assent or descent, re-entry, solid fuel propulsion, heat shields,
pressure gradients, or any of a thousand such terms related to space
travel. What do you do?
Enlighten the poor soul. Tell him (for our purposes we will assume
the ignorant partner is a male) about them. If you don't know, do
some research. Knowledge is power. Not only does it enable you to
pursue goals and interests that otherwise you could not, but it
also allows you the opportunity to make your partner feel STUPID.
Feelings of stupidity in your partner will spawn the desire to
feel NOT STUPID. Here is where you step in to explain the nuances
of space travel, string theory, and how the hierarchy of needs for
pigmy elephants differs from the hierarchy for humans.
You become a an intellectual hero. Use Space Travel to become a
Hero.

There is a bucket
of gold at the end of the rainbow. The Confusion Road is one significant,
though meandering, path to that bucket. However, others, including
Jealousy, can also be very robust. More to come.
